1971 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop

A superb, two-owner example of an early '70s Mahogany neck Gibson Les Paul Deluxe, remarkably well-preserved and easily one of the cleanest we've seen from the era. With its completely unfaded or discoloured top it offers a rare glimpse of what these guitars looked like when they left Kalamazoo - this one having clearly spent much of its life safely tucked away in its case.
It has all the classic features of the period: Mahogany/Maple sandwich body, three-piece Mahogany neck with small volute, “Made in USA” stamp on the back of the headstock. The mini humbuckers deliver a bright, focused take on classic Les Paul humbucker tone—crisp, clear and tight in the low end, with a lovely midrange push that works really well clean with superb cut and directness when driven.
Condition-wise it’s excellent throughout, clearly a well-looked-after guitar. It retains its original finish with no greening or discolouration to the top. A great example that includes the original hangtag and guarantee card along with a period fitted hard case that was included in the original sale.
