1983 Tokai FV70, Natural

A rare and highly regarded example from the "lawsuit" era of Japanese guitar production, this 1983 Tokai FV70 is an excellent take on the original late-’50s Flying V design, built during the period that established Tokai’s reputation for exceptional quality vintage replicas.

From the body shape and construction through to the overall feel and styling, this is very much a guitar aimed at capturing the look, response, and feel of an original Korina V. It delivers the direct, aggressive attack you’d expect from a V, with plenty of midrange presence and clarity from the twin humbucker setup.

The neck has a very comfortable medium  C profile that's on the chunkier side of mediuml, paired with a lovely dark rosewood fingerboard with dot marker inlays. As with many upper-end Tokai's from this era, the overall build quality is excellent, with a level of fit and finish that helped make these instruments so respected amongst players and collectors alike.

Presented in very good condition overall, with signs of use consistent with age but no issues affecting playability or structural integrity.

A difficult model to find, and a genuinely well-executed vintage-style V from one of the most respected periods of Japanese production.
