1969 Fender Esquire Refin
A beautifully restored 1969 Fender Esquire, featuring a pro natural refinish that shows off a great-looking ash body with wonderful pronounced grain pattern.
The neck is date-stamped July '69, and features a maple board with black dot markers. The profile has a comfortable late-’60s chunk to it, filling the hand nicely without being overbearing. It’s a great-feeling neck with a nice rounded shoulder and although the frets are fairly low the guitar feels great to play.
The pots both date to the 42nd week of 1966, and the wiring is black/white/yellow PVC typical of the period. Solder is a little messy but all components are present and correct. The refin itself is very well-executed, it highlights the ash grain beautifully!
Sonically, it delivers all the snap, twang and midrange bite you'd want from an Esquire, with that stripped-down simplicity that rewards dynamic picking and subtle nuance.
Esquires from this period are fairly hard to come by and this is a fantastic opportunity to get one at player grade price. If you're after a '60s Esquire with a great neck, and all the feel and tone that make these models so timeless, this one is a great shout! A very well executed restoration and a serious player. Comes with a modern Fender hard case.
