1966 Fender Precision Bass, Sunburst
A characterful, incredibly vibey 1966 Fender Precision Bass, finished in its original sunburst lacquer, worn in all the right places and oozing vintage mojo from every angle! This one has seen some action over the years but remains 100% original, with a great feel, and plenty of that unmistakable mid-'60s P-Bass tone.
The Nitro finish neck has been played to a silky smooth finish—one of those necks you immediately feel at home on. Neck is date stamped OCT 66 with the CTS pot codes lining up nicely to the 42nd week of '66. It features the transition Fender logo, pearl dot inlays and awesome looking worn 'target burst' finish. The pickguard is original and intact as is the rest of the hardware down to the strap buttons and shielding plate.
It’s a really lively/resonant bass with a comfortable lightweight Alder body that balances nicely on a strap. It's currently strung with flatwound strings, bringing out a really nice deep, warm thump with that pillowy low end and muted clarity we know and love! It’s a sound that sits effortlessly in a mix—classic Motown, soul, dub, or anything where you want fat, rounded, supportive low end without losing definition. Great in the studio or live, this one's a real workhorse, and the kind of bass that's hard to put down.
Includes its original case along with the bridge and pickup chrome covers, making this not just a fantastic player but a complete vintage package. If you're after a real-deal '60s Precision that looks the part and plays beautifully, this one hits the mark. A true all-rounder with tone, feel, and vibe to spare.
