1959 Fender Stratocaster, 3-Tone Sunburst
One of the finest, early 1959 Strats we have come across...
A pretty much investment grade, 1959 Fender Stratocaster - The cleanest we have seen for a long time and probably the cleanest for sale right now. Bought many years ago as an investment piece by an enthusiast who's job took him around the world, and stored in a vault for many years only recently to see the light of day when it was taken to us for sale.
It is in remarkable condition, there is some light checking on it and a few small dings, a small amount of wear on the maple fingerboard and some light, buckle rash on the back. This is being quite picky however, overall this guitar is in exceptional condition given it's age.
Probably one of the last bodies and necks to be dated in 1959 before they suspended this practice for a while. Neck date is 4/59, body date is 3/59 and all pots date to 1st week of 1959. Serial number dates to early 1959 and it has a classic slim C shaped neck profile.
Frets are great shape and the guitar plays brilliantly. As you would expect from a guitar of this class, everything is totally original under the hood with the exception of a ground wire that has been reattached to the volume pot.
The pickup readings are N - 5.93k, M - 5.55k, B - 4.93k. All pickups sounds superb but the bridge pickup is a little weaker output wise than the other two which corroborates the readings.
Included is a repro trem arm, ashtray cover and an original tweed case. If you are looking for an investment grade piece, it is guitars like this that have consistently shown the strongest gains in the market place. We think you will really struggle to find a better example out there!
